Caroline Sanders
Caroline Sanders has always been interested in wellness and healing. She is a traditionally trained Nurse Practitioner with a long and broad experience in western medicine. Caroline first practiced yoga before she became a nurse practitioner and then came back to the practice fifteen years ago as part of her own search for self healing and self understanding. She was drawn to yoga and its methodology and so began an in-depth study of yoga philosophy through immersive experiential programs and formal course-work. She studied under two wise and knowledgeable teachers, Ganga White and Everette Newell, she has a combined certification of 500YTT. She is also certified as a Ayurveda-Yoga Specialist by Katheryn Templeton through Yoga International. She taught at The Yoga Studio prior to the pandemic.
She began to try to meld these two disciplines from the East and the West, yoga and medicine, into a more holistic approach to health and wellness. She recognized that some of the methods of yoga would be beneficial to her patients who suffered from stress and anxiety. Stress is a part of being human, but unabated stress, over time, can lead to illness. She believes that empowering her patients and students with the tools that can help them to become more focused and calm, less anxious and agitated is key to finding the path towards wholeness on all levels. There is a growing recognition in the west of the validity and importance of adjunctive therapies such as yoga, somatic quieting, meditation, and how those practices can impact overall health.
Caroline teaches yoga because she believes that this ancient wisdom tradition is still relevant today. In her own life, she has found that yoga’s methods offer a path towards equanimity, self understanding and wholeness. She wants to share what has been so important in her own life with others.
